Why We Need Foster Homes

There are almost no safe shelters for Pit Bulls. Foster homes are the difference between life and death for every dog we are able to place. While in foster care, our dogs have a chance to get adjusted to a pet's life. They can play and grow strong, while learning manners and obedience. By the time they are adopted, our dogs can go to their new home happy, healthy, and confident that their bad days are behind them. Our mission is for each of these dogs to be a breed ambassador, and you can help us get there by fostering!

Misunderstood is 100% foster home based. We do not have a facility in which to place our dogs. We kindly ask that you consider taking this very important role, and helping us place one more deserving dog.

What We Will Provide & What You Will Provide

We are a nonprofit, no kill rescue run solely by volunteers. We receive food by donation and can provide it as it becomes available, but are funded solely by donations and adoption fees. We appreciate your interest and support in becoming a foster.  

Misunderstood provides each foster home the following:

• A crate
• blankets and/or bed
• 2 bowls
• Leash and collar with ID tag
• Toys
• Dog food

What the foster home provides:

• Love
• Training (house training, manners, and basic obedience)
• Daily walks or other excercise
• Attending adoption days and events when available
